Chiropractic
The conditions which doctors of chiropractic address are as varied and as vast as the nervous system itself. All chiropractors use standards of examination to assess and diagnose a patient’s condition and arrive at a course of treatment. Doctors of chiropractic utilize many methods: consultation, case history, physical examination, x-ray examination, and referral as necessary for diagnostic imaging such as CT scan, MRI, and bone densitometry. In addition, they provide a careful chiropractic structural, functional and biomechanical examination, paying particular attention to the spine.
Accidents, falls, stresses and tensions (structural, nutritional, emotional, biochemical, etc), overexertion, repetitive and prolonged strain, ergonomics, and countless other factors can result in a displacements or derangements of the spinal column, causing irritation to spinal nerve roots. These spinal changes are called vertebral subluxations. These irritations are often what cause malfunctions in the human body. Reducing or eliminating this irritation to spinal nerves can cause your body to operate more efficiently and more comfortably.
Chiropractic also places an emphasis on nutritional and exercise programs, wellness and lifestyle modifications for promoting physical and mental health. While chiropractors do not use drugs or surgery, Doctors of chiropractic do refer patients to other appropriate health care professionals when those interventions are indicated. In fact, chiropractors, medical physicians, physical therapists and other health care professionals now work as partners in occupational health, sports medicine, and a wide variety of other rehabilitation practices.

Colour and Sound Therapy (Audiobicolour System)
Sound and/or colour therapy has been used throughout time to enhance the well being of people by positively affecting their bio-energetic bodies. Now with the advancement of technology the methods of application can be precisely designed for the individuals needs, such as: brain injuries, autism, ADD, certain forms of impaired hearing discernment, anxiety disorders and more.
This new technology, Audiobiocolour System, has been developed over 30 years of research by a team of French physicians. Based on the results of a listening test and three different colour tests, with this computerized technology Dr. Hunt is able to tailor a treatment for an individual using specific frequencies, harmonics and sequences of colour and sound to re-integrate and balance the bio-energetic and physical body.
Sound Therapy
The ear, our centre of balance and hearing, is well developed before birth. In the womb we can hear starting in the later stages of pregnancy. From that stage on we experience life through our senses, hearing being the first, and emotions can result from these sensory stimuli. Different emotional experiences often affect how we interpret life events. The inner ear and the brain areas connected to the inner ear hold the memory of our entire history. Audiobiocolour and sound therapy allows a rebalancing on many levels and to develop one’s abilities and to encourage growth and learning. It reconnects us to our inner self and opens us up to new ways of being.
Sound therapy re-harmonizes hearing by stimulating through filtered music frequencies that are not well heard by the person and filtering out those most easily heard according to the results of a specialized hearing test. A system of filtering the music according to high and low frequencies and right and left brain hemispheres stimulates the nervous system, and encourages the balance between right and left brain. This enhances performance, learning, comprehension, concentration and memory.
Because each sound frequency humans should be able to hear corresponds to a specific part of the body, sound therapy has an action on body tension, psychomotor imbalances, developmental problems and body memory.
Sound therapy enhances listening, which leads to improvements in language, reading, writing and communication. It encourages attention, intuition, imagination, and self-confidence.
Audiobiocolor sound therapy has a general re-balancing effect, which allows the body to release tension, anxieties and blockages. It re-awakens cellular memory and frees up emotions. Re-balancing of the listening mechanism allows one to become more receptive and open to oneself and to others.
IN OFFICE ASSESSMENT & TREATMENT
Initial assessment along with colour takes about one hour. Then Dr. Hunt designs a specific program for you. In office treatment sessions are half an hour and are usually done simultaneously with colour therapy. The recommended treatment is 10 sessions over the course of 5 weeks. In some instances it may be recommended to complete the ten sessions in a shorter time period. After ten sessions, a re-assessment and redesign of your program is recommended. Usually 3 series of 10 sessions are optimal.
HOME TREATMENT OPTION
After the first 10 sessions you may opt for the CD version of your treatment. This allows for the convenience of doing the treatment in the comfort of your own home as often as you like. It is recommended that you do the treatment at least twice a week for 5 weeks. If you like, you can do it daily. You will need to have a pair of good quality headphones. Be sure you put the headphones on the proper way, as this treatment is right and left ear specific. Specific details are available form our office. You may listen to the CD while falling asleep. During treatment it is recommended to rest or engage in some type of creative activity. Do not do intellectual activity during the treatment, because it interferes with the re-patterning of the nervous system. Reading is best avoided. Children seem to benefit a great deal from drawing or painting during the session.
Colour Therapy
Colour acts directly on the vitality of the organism causing the vital energy within the body to react. There are 12 main colours, each of which represents a part of the colour white, which complement or balance each other.
Magenta—complements—Green
Scarlet—complements—Turquoise
Red—complements—Cyan Blue
Orange—complements—Indigo
Yellow—complements—Blue
Lime Green—complements—Violet
If the person is not in balance they will not respond to colours in a balanced ratio when tested and these results reflect the state of imbalance in their bodies and bio-energy fields.
The action of colour has a physical effect on the body. Exposure to a colour acts on the photonic (light) receptors of the skin, which react directly to the specific energy given off by each colour.
More than 30 years of research by a team of French physicians has led to the creation of the Audiobiocolour System of colour therapy. The Audiobiocolour allows us to assess the fundamental imbalances of a person with regard to the frequencies of colour. Then, through application of specific frequencies, harmonics and sequences, colour helps to clear blockages, and to increase a person’s awareness and consciousness. Through this insight, individuals are able to create the means in their lives by which their imbalances can be resolved.
IN OFFICE ASSESSMENT & TREATMENT
We assess the colour imbalances of the subject using one to three different tests. These assessments show us which colours the person integrates well and which they do not. The design of the treatment program is based on the results of these tests using the computerized Audiobiocolour technology, which creates a sequence of colour harmonics and frequencies to address the identified imbalance. Treatment is usually recommended once or twice a week for five weeks. Each session is 30 minutes long and usually done in conjunction with the sound therapy. A colour re-assessment may be repeated at some point during the course of treatment and at the end of 10 sessions. A series of three 10 sessions programs is recommended

Cranial Sacral Therapy
The cranial bones are lined on the inside by membranes. When there are blocks or tension in the body, the membranes are pulled out of position. The membranes then pull on the bones of the skull, which cause them to move out of alignment. For example, it is uncomfortable to wear a sweater that has been twisted around the body and that is the feeling in the body when the membranes are pulled. The causes are many and varied. They can be recent or long standing. For example, the trauma of birth can have a lasting affect as can a recent blow to the head or body. A blow to the body will reverberate up to the head.
The very light holds on the cranial and sacral bones can facilitate a release in tension and thereby promote an environment for natural healing from within to occur. This therapy is very effective with health problems that are less well understood, such as chronic pain, lowered vitality, and recurring infections.

Naturopathic Medicine
In Canada, naturopathic practice is regulated under provincial law in four provinces: British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan. At present, naturopathic doctors (ND) are the only health professionals in Ontario still regulated under the Drugless Practitioners Act of 1925. The process is underway to have them regulated under the Regulated Health Professions Act.
Registered naturopathic doctors are required to complete three years of pre-medical studies at a recognized university followed by four years of full-time naturopathic training at an approved college. After graduation, they must pass rigorous regulatory board examinations that are standardized across North America. The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto is the only recognized training institution in Canada.
Naturopathic doctors examine, diagnose and treat patients with programs tailored to each patient and their health conditions. They use a combination of:
- Clinical nutrition
- Botanical (herbal) medicine
- Homeopathic medicine
- Physical treatments
- Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine)
- Lifestyle counselling
Each of these modalities is used to stimulate the body’s self-healing abilities. The treatment focuses on the underlying causes of illness rather than the symptoms, often eliminating the need for long-term medical care or prescription drugs. Naturopathic medicine’s focus on disease prevention, patient education, health maintenance and the natural treatment of disease results in cost-effective health care in the immediate and long term. In Ontario, the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) represents registered naturopathic doctors. The association advocates for naturopathic medicine through government relations, public and media relations. The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors promotes Naturopathic Medicine to the public, corporations, insurance companies and the federal government. It also facilitates communication within the profession and represents the interests of licensed Naturopathic Doctors throughout Canada.
Orthotics (Computerized Gait Analysis & Custom Made Orthotics)
They are covered by most insurance plans because insurance companies know the value of orthotic therapy in the prevention and treatment of many conditions that can lend to short-term or even long-term disability claims.
